The College of Administration and Economics<\/a> at the University of Baghdad discussed , a master\u2019s thesis in field of Economic<\/a> by the student (Rafeef Mahmoud Abdel Sattar ) and tagged with ( The Economic Impacts of Development Road Project and Its Role in Promoting Sustainable Development in Iraq) , Under supervision of (Assist.Prof. Dr. Hamdiya Shaker Muslim )<\/p>\n

The establishment of the Development Road Project and the Grand Faw Port\u060c which represents the cornerstone of the Development Road and its affiliated projects\u060c are economic and industrial zones of great economic importance and reflect on the development of the wheel of economic and social development\u060c which contributes to achieving the goals of sustainable development in Iraq in the medium and long term\u060c through the establishment of infrastructure such as roads\u060c bridges\u060c railways\u060c airports and the development of existing ports\u060c in addition to the establishment of the Faw Port\u060c which represents the starting point of the Development Road Project\u060c in order to connect with global trade routes\u060c which makes Iraq an important economic corridor in the region\u060c taking advantage of Iraq’s strategic location between the three continents\u060c and the most important link in the region to connect the East and the West. The Development Road Project is a strategic solution to many challenges for the countries benefiting from the project\u060c as it will seek to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development. It is expected that the Development Road Project will be a major transformation for the Iraqi economy\u060c making Iraq the largest global logistics center in the region\u060c and Iraq will become the core of transportation movements in the Middle East\u060c which creates diversity in sources of income from renewable and diverse revenues and from providing job opportunities and reducing the unemployment problem and contributing to achieving the goals of sustainable development in Iraq. To inform in the research aspects\u060c the deductive and descriptive analysis approaches were adopted\u060c through studying the economic importance of the development road project\u060c the Faw Port\u060c the industrial zones\u060c and the economic and commercial stations affiliated with the project\u060c and answering the raised problem and proving or denying the adopted hypothesis. One of the most important conclusions reached by the research is the realization of the importance of Iraq’s strategic location linking the East and the West\u060c shortening distance\u060c time and costs. The development road project can be considered a key to sustainable development in Iraq due to its backward and forward linkage with a number of development projects\u060c and thus creating interconnected relationships between the various economic sectors that seek to transform the Iraqi economy from a limited rentier economy to a sustainable and diversified economy. The most important recommendations reached by the researcher are the necessity of accelerating the establishment of the development road project to benefit from a site to link the East and the West\u060c and that the economic and social effects resulting from the development road project and the Grand Faw Port must be exploited to achieve change in the reality of the Iraqi economy through the transportation road corridors that will pass from Faw to Fishkhabur.<\/p>\n
