This research seeks to test “the relationship between intellectual capital as an independent and explanatory variable and its components (human capital, structural capital, relational capital) and sustainable competitive performance as a responsive variable and its components (reducing delivery cycle time, rapid response to market demand, increasing customer satisfaction, providing better quality, increase market share) and the mediating and explanatory variable of entrepreneurship and its components (adventure, creativity, and strategy renewal)” through a field study conducted in six private colleges located in Baghdad.
Here, the research problem was diagnosed in an attempt to answer the following question: Is there a realization among senior management within the private colleges (reviewed) of the importance of employing intellectual capital in sustainable competitive performance through the role of a mediator for entrepreneurship? Because of the importance of the private education sector, the private universities and colleges in the city of Baghdad were the field of this research, and the selection of the research community was based on the year of establishment of the college/university, since more than 20 years have passed since its founding, and the researcher conducted a field visit to (6) private universities/colleges. They are (Al-Turath University College, Al-Mansour University College, Al-Rafidain University College, Al-Mamoun University College, Baghdad University College for Economic Sciences, Baghdad College for Medical Sciences “Baghdad for Pharmacy previously”).
Scientific and administrative, and the researcher adopted the descriptive analytical approach, as the questionnaire was used as a main tool for collecting data on the field side, as the questionnaire included (72) paragraphs that covered the research variables and its sub-dimensions, and after evaluating and testing the validity and reliability of the research measurement tools, the data was analyzed and hypotheses were tested using statistical tools Appropriate, and then the obtained data were processed, where a number of statistical tools and methods were used using the statistical program (SPSS and (AMOS) to analyze the data. Within the private colleges (reviewed), the results showed that there is a relationship and influence between intellectual capital and its dimensions, competitive performance and its dimensions, entrepreneurship and its dimensions, both individually and directly and indirectly.
