The Departments of Banking and Financial Science and Business Administration, in cooperation with the Continuous Education Unit, organized a training workshop entitled “The role of performance evaluation according to the American model in improving the performance of economic units” delivered by both Assist.Prof.Dr. Itmathal Rasheed and Assist.Lec. Omar Obaid Abdullah. The workshop aimed to introduce performance evaluation, its objectives and the most important stages, explain the American model and its indicators, and clarify its importance in improving the performance of economic units.
The lecturers explained that performance evaluation represents an objective examination by which policies, systems, and operations management in entities subject to supervision are diagnosed, through which achievement, plans, and results are compared with the rules, and confirmation of efficient management of economic resources, identifying the causes of waste, extravagance, misuse, and exploitation, and clarity of proposals that address aspects of deviation and extravagance. In order to direct performance towards achieving greater effectiveness, efficiency, economy, or savings, the workshop was attended by faculty and students of the college, where their contributions were discussed and their inquiries were answered by the lecturers.
