The Department of Business Administration, in cooperation with the Continuous Education Unit, organized a training workshop entitled “The role of human capital in revitalizing the Iraqi economy – mention of some international models” presented by the lecturer in the Department of Business Administration, Al-Zahraa Sabah Abdel Hassan.
The lecture referred to the topic of how to develop knowledge of human resources as an important and vital capital in supporting the revitalization of the Iraqi economy. Moreover, It mentioned some similar experiences in the world. The workshop also touched on the concept of the knowledge economy associated with information and communication technology, which is the high-speed economy and its means are satellites and e-mail and what distinguishes it from the traditional economy in the industrial age and its simple movement.
Furthermore, The lectures also stressed the importance of the shift to the knowledge economy, as knowledge and intellectual capital have become among the most important requirements in institutions. The reasons for increasing the justification for the shift to the knowledge economy are, among many others:
- The rapid growth of knowledge, the emergence of new scientific branches,
- The widening areas of great technological development that the current world is witnessing in various scientific and technical fields.
The workshop was attended by a number of teachers, employees, and graduate students, where their interventions were discussed and their inquiries were answered by the lecturer after presenting a set of recommendations.
