The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Baghdad discussed , a master’s thesis in field of Operations Research by the student (Ismeel Hassan Ismeel ) and tagged with ( Data Envelopment Analysis Fuzzy Two-stage To Evaluate and Improve Banking Efficiency) , Under supervision of (Assist.Prof Dr. Omar Mohammed Naser )
The study adopted data envelopment analysis as a tool to measure the efficiency of the investigated banks. The research problem was diagnosed in the lack of interest in measuring the efficiency of banks by exploiting available resources to maximize profits. …Based on the problem, an attempt was made to measure the efficiency of the banks investigated, as well as to analyze the results reached in order to come up with recommendations that would contribute to improving the Egyptian sector. The study focused on increasing outputs while keeping inputs constant and reducing inputs while keeping outputs constant in order to maximize returns, by developing solutions. for them Based on the importance of the subject of the study (first), and the importance of the banks studied (second), then adopting (the descriptive analytical approach and the comparative approach through the (Deap. 2.1) program) in completing this study, which includes interpreting the results of the data envelopment analysis.
The study included (22) government and private banks for the first stage, and a comparison with two international banks for the second stage. The study produced conclusions whereby the banks (Al-Rasheed, Industrial, TBI, United, Al-Ahly, Assyria, Al-Watani, Cihan, Elaf) achieved a 100% efficiency rate in 2019, and in 2020 the banks (Al-Rasheed, Al-Rafidain, TBI, Al-Ahly, Assyria, and Al-Mansour) achieved an efficiency rate of 100% in 2019. In 2021, the banks were (Al-Rasheed, Al-Rafidain, TBI, Industrial, Al-Ahli, Asia, National, and Trans-Iraq) and in 2022 the efficient banks (Al-Rafidain, Industrial, TBI, Iraqi Investment, Al-Ahli, National) were in the first stage, While banks declined and others excelled in the second stage with complete efficiency (the banks, the Industrial, National, National, Jordanian Capital, and Lloyds Banking Group London), where recommendations were reached to raise the efficiency of banks through the adoption of their departments to standards of competence and quality in completing work, and relying on teamwork in Accomplishing tasks, and urging them to make the phrase “The customer is our goal” the prevailing culture in the work of these banks.
