White Slave Trade

In Cooperation with the Northern Technical University, the Continuing Education Unit Organizes a Workshop on the White Slave Trade.

The Continuing Education Unit and the Northern Technical University—Technical College of Engineering for Computer and Artificial Intelligence have organized an electronic workshop entitled “White Slave Trade and Exploitation of Females: A Crime Against Society.” Our college’s lecturers, Amira Shukr Wali and Nadia Shaker Hussein have presented the workshop.

The workshop aims to shed light on the different types of violence, marginalization, and exploitation that women suffer such as physical, psychological, and sexual violence, as well as social and economic discrimination.

The workshop has come out with several recommendations, the most important of which are:

  • Activating laws and penalties to criminalize all those who practice violence of all kinds against women.
  • Empowering women economically and functionally.
  • Supporting women’s empowerment in developing leadership skills among women.
  • Shedding light on the work of community police and ways to protect women and girls.
  • Changing society’s thinking about those exposed to violence, as perpetrators must be punished to create intellectually sound societies.
