Authentic Leadership

The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Baghdad discussed a higher diploma equivalent to Master’s Thesis in field of security strategic planning by the student (Laith Sabah Abdul Rahman ) and tagged with (The Role of Authentic Leadership in Organizational Performance/ an analytical Study of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior – Planning and Follow-up Directorate ), Under supervision of (Prof. Dr. TALA Asim Faiq )

The current research aims to test the correlation and influence relationship between authentic leadership as an independent variable and organizational performance as a dependent variable، as well as to determine the level of availability of authentic leadership behaviors and to identify the role played by authentic leadership in achieving organizational performance and (does authentic leadership have a role and influence in organizational performance?) by adopting the dimensions of authentic leadership (self-awareness، internal ethical perspective، balanced treatment and transparency of relationships)، as well as the dimensions of organizational performance (efficiency، effectiveness and justice) in the departments، divisions and units of the Planning and Follow-up Directorate – Iraqi Ministry of Interior، to come up with a set of recommendations that contribute to raising the level of organizational performance in the organization under study. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical approach in completing this research، by collecting data from officers، employees، and members of the departments، branches، and units، numbering (216)، so that the sample would be random and stratified، specializing in (officers، employees، and members)، based on the questionnaire that included (29) paragraphs. The questionnaire was formulated according to the five-point Likert scale، while the researcher relied on the SPSS program. V28))، (AMOS V.25) In addition to using descriptive statistical methods (exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis، percentages، arithmetic mean، standard deviation، multiple linear regression، normal distribution tests، Pearson’s correlation coefficient، and coefficient of variation)، the most prominent result of the study was the influence of authentic leadership on organizational performance. Self-awareness had a direct impact on organizational performance، outweighing the other dimensions (internal ethical perspective، balanced processing، and relationship transparency)، respectively. The Planning and Follow-up Directorate at the Ministry of Interior also sought to improve organizational performance by adopting authentic leadership in general، and its dimensions of self-awareness، internal ethical perspective، and balanced processing. However، it employed relationship transparency only occasionally. Furthermore، it relied on self-awareness and balanced processing to improve efficiency and the level of justice، and adopted an internal ethical perspective to improve effectiveness.
