An overview of the Human Rights Unit
The Human Rights Unit is one of the core units in our college. It aims to foster a culture of human rights and promote the values of citizenship, equality, and justice among students and academic staff.
The unit works to develop awareness of rights and duties, to consolidate the humanitarian principles stipulated in international conventions and the Iraqi constitution, and to build a generation that is aware and believes in peace and coexistence.
The Vision of Unity
The Human Rights Unit has a vision of being a center for sharing the culture of rights and duties and promoting the values of justice and equality within the university campus and society. This may make students who are aware of their rights and responsibilities.
The Mission of Unity
The unit seeks to consolidate human rights principles through awareness-raising activities, workshops, seminars, and cooperation with civil society organizations, to build a university environment that promotes a sense of belonging, the values of citizenship, humanity, and equality.
Unit Objectives
1- Raising awareness of human rights culture among students, faculty, and the entire academic staff.
2- Promoting the values of citizenship, justice, equality, and non-discrimination.
3- Organizing workshops, seminars, and training courses related to human rights topics.
4- Encouraging students to participate in volunteer initiatives and human rights activities.
5- Preparing reports and studies that contribute to developing the concept of human rights in universities.
