Dr. Sabah Manfi Reda participated in the activities of the conference organized by the Association of Iraqi Private Banks in Erbil Governorate, which was held under the title (The Banking Sector – Growth Opportunities and the Future of International Partnerships) in the presence of Mr. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional anaf Hamoud, Vice President of the Iraqi Society for Statistics, and Dr. Qutaiba Al-Qazzaz, a lecturer in the Statistics Department at our college, as well as representatives of the Central Bank, governmental organizations, diplomatic bodies operating in Iraq, and non-governmental organizations.
The conference is being held within the framework of the continuous effort to strengthen the banking sector to achieve a stable, safe and effective financial system in light of the rapid changes and developments that the world is witnessing in the transformations of the structure, financial systems and business rules and the accompanying great progress in the use of financial technologies by consolidating the compliance rules stipulated by the law. Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing No. 39 of 2015, and applying international practices and standards to preserve the integrity of the financial system from local and international risks and procedures, and to ensure the transparency and integrity of financial operations, as well as the transition from the cash economy to the digital economy.”
The conference aims to advance the banking situation in Iraq and ensure the expansion of international partnerships between Iraqi banks and foreign banks and the transition from the cash economy to the digital economy.
