Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sabah Manfi Redha, Dean of the College, the College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Health, the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, has organized a workshop entitled “The Role of Proactive Leadership in Reducing Crimes of Drug”. The workshop was held in Al-Wafa Hall. The workshop was presented by Professor Dr. Adel Abbas, Head of the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, with the participation of Dr. Muhammad Hashim and Ms. Laila Ghazi from the Iraqi Ministry of Health’s Planning Department, and Ms. Milad Ibrahim Majeed from the Forensic Medicine Department. The workshop has included an introduction to drugs, their types, and their effects.

The workshop has concluded with several suggestions:

1. Establishing a research support center at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, specializing in combating drug trafficking and abuse.
2. Establishing specialized addiction treatment centers to achieve comprehensive coverage of services in this field.
3. Adopting modern measures by a comprehensive national program for addiction treatment and psychological and social rehabilitation.
4. Providing the necessary medical and laboratory supplies (devices and equipment) to ensure the readiness of these health facilities.
5. Implementing comprehensive treatment programs by coordinating efforts to provide medical treatment, rehabilitation, and psychological support services to addicts.
6. Establishing an immediate response and rapid intervention system to treat cases of over-recovery.
