Strategic Ambidexterity

The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Baghdad discussed , a master’s thesis in field of Industrial Management by the student (Duaa Abd al-Kareem Jalil) and tagged with ( Strategic Ambidexterity and Its Role in Achieving Sustainable Performance – An Analytical Research ) , Under supervision of ( Asst. Prof. Aisha Hammoudi Hashim ).

The current research aims to examine the role of Strategic Ambidexterity as an independent variable in Sustainable Performance as a dependent variable within Al-Nahrain State Company for Printing and Production of Educational Supplies, while identifying the dimensions of the variables that exert the greatest influence. Strategic ambidexterity is considered one of the most important contemporary organizational processes for achieving organizational success. Therefore, organizations continuously strive to improve their operations and enhance employees’ awareness and capabilities. The research problem was represented by the following key question: Does strategic leadership play a role in exploring opportunities to achieve the economic, social, and environmental performance of Al-Nahrain State Company for Printing and Production of Educational Supplies? In addition, the study sought to identify the nature and strength of the relationship between strategic ambidexterity and sustainable performance in the company.
To clarify this relationship, two main hypotheses and their corresponding sub-hypotheses were formulated. The researcher adopted the descriptive-analytical approach to accomplish the study. Data were collected from department and division managers, totaling 74 respondents, using a purposive stratified sampling technique. A questionnaire consisting of (36) items was employed as the primary data collection instrument, supported by field observations. The researcher utilized SPSS V.25 and Excel 2010, in addition to descriptive statistical methods, for data analysis.
The originality of the current study stems from linking modern variables associated with recent developments that serve industrial organizations. The dimensions of strategic ambidexterity, namely opportunity exploration, opportunity exploitation, and exploratory innovation, contribute to enhancing organizational continuity and survival, enabling organizations to build a stronger market position and achieve distinguished performance directed toward sustainability. The statistical analysis revealed several findings, most notably the company’s orientation toward improving sustainable performance through adopting the dimensions of strategic ambidexterity. These dimensions played a significant role in enhancing the company’s ability to cope with economic, social, and environmental changes and to achieve sustainable performance.
