University life holds many beautiful memories, starting from study halls and exams, all the way to getting to know friends and colleagues, and between the four years that a student spends at the university and between academic life, there remain white spots that they remember apart from studying, including sports and artistic activities, volunteer work, academic trips, and community service. The Department of Public Administration is one of the mire active departments in the College of Business and Economics, it provides a safe place for students to explore themselves as thinkers, learners, and leaders; It caters opportunities for students to immerse themselves in and address important social problems and challenges as well as to think about and support innovative solutions.
The department organized a volunteer assembly spreading awareness of the harms of smoking entitled (Get rid of it before it kills you) for fourth-year students under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Nisreen Jassim Muhammad, Asst. Dr. Muthanna Zahim Faisal, and Asst. Israr Abdel Zahra and Dr. Muhammad Maatouq and Asst. Prof. Dr. Suhair Adel, with the participation of Dr. Hossam Muhaibes, Head of the Department, the professors organized a campaign that spoke on several factors including : the harms of smoking and its health, social and financial effects, they displayed awareness posters on the subject and urged student smokers to throw the remaining cigarette residues in the trash so they can live a healthy, fruitful life away from pollutants and smoke.
