Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sabah Munfi Ridha, Dean of the College, the College of Administration and Economics, University of Baghdad, organized a “Financial Inclusion Day” event in cooperation with the Association of Iraqi Private Banks, with broad participation from a number of public and private banks.
The Dean was accompanied during his tour by Dr. Safaa Ahmed Mohammed, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs.
The event was organized with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of financial inclusion as a key instrument for achieving sustainable development. This was achieved by introducing students and staff members to modern banking services, particularly electronic wallets, smart cards, and digital transfers, raising awareness of cashless payment mechanisms and their importance in reducing reliance on paper-based transactions, presenting microfinance mechanisms and their role in supporting youth entrepreneurship, and encouraging young people to open bank accounts as a fundamental step toward financial inclusion.
The Dean emphasized that this initiative is part of the College’s educational and social responsibility, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation between academic institutions and financial institutions in a manner that contributes to preparing future banking professionals capable of keeping pace with the requirements of the modern banking sector.
The Dean also reaffirmed the continuation of joint academic and professional cooperation in service of the local community, promoting financial literacy among young people, and preparing a qualified generation capable of leading the country’s economic development.
