The College of Business and Economics organized a campaign to plant trees and plant seedlings in the corridors and courtyards of the college on the occasion of National Planting Day. Dr. Sabah Manfi, Dean of the College, the Dean’s Assistants, Department Heads, professors, employees and students of the College participated in the campaign.
Dr. Sabah Munfi said that the initiative launched by the Iraqi Prime Minister to plant five million trees and palm trees comes within the framework of concern for and preservation of the environment, and encouraging interest in planting trees and plants in Iraq, stressing the role of Iraqi universities in educating university students to contribute to improving and preserving the environment. Supporting the environmental reality and the necessity of getting rid of environmental pollutants of all kinds.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Higher Education designated March 12 as “National Afforestation Day” in conjunction with the initiative to plant five million trees and palm trees launched by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani to combat desertification.
