Professor Dr. Sabah Manfi Reda, Dean of the College, has participated in the Arabic Population Day celebration, which is held by the Ministry of Planning in cooperation with the National Security Advisory and the National Center for Population and Demographic Studies at the University of Baghdad under the slogan “Population, Security, and Peace”.

Dr. Sabah Manfi, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics and Director of the National Center for Population and Demographic Studies at the University of Baghdad, have presented a research paper entitled “Population, Security, and Peace.” They have addressed the relationship between population and security, emphasizing its reciprocal and highly sensitive nature. They have also explained that unbalanced population growth or decline can directly impact the stability of the state and society. If excessive population growth does not match an expansion in job opportunities and public services, generate significant pressure on economic and social resources, it may increase poverty and unemployment rates. This, in turn, leads to social unrest and security tensions stemming from individuals’ feelings of helplessness and deprivation.
